  Operations Consultant – Business Analyst
 
  • Designed a strategic sourcing solution, through the use of alternative transport, consumables standardization, and consolidated purchasing, for consumables at an international mining firm which saved $1.3 M per annum.
  • Advised senior client resources on how to conduct a total cost of ownership analysis for fuels, lubricants, and explosives to improve the client's sourcing decision making process and make it sustainable.
  • Traveled to 7 client and 2 supplier sites in western Canada to conduct internal and supplier analysis to accurately size demand reduction opportunities ($6 M) and supplier pricing opportunities ($3 M).
  • Led client brainstorming sessions to produce, prioritize, and execute over 12 high-value, high-ease ideas to improve daily operations and deliver rapid, sustainable business performance improvement results.
  • Identified a $13.1 M per annum in lost EBIT from frozen chutes and helped operations institute and sustain best practices ideas to recapture $6.5 M in the first year and another $3.1 M in the second year.
  • Championed an initiative and overcame barriers to change to use a preexisting engine-idling monitoring system that saved the client $500 K per annum in fuel and maintenance costs.
  • Developed a timing chart for supervisors to optimize in-pit traffic and improved haulage production by 5%.

  • Planned, designed, built, tested, and released a streamlined business intelligence solution which saved the client $1.4 M per annum in data mining costs for a regional telecomm firm with over 214,000 customer records.
  • Identified gaps and limitations in the client's data sources to finalize a detailed project scope and establish explicit expectations with the client to ensure an on-time, on-scope, and on-budget delivery on a fix-bid project.

      Consultant – Systems Integration & Technology
     
  • Captured business requirements from three technology infrastructure capabilities to update infrastructure change management processes for a Fortune 500 client to save $30M per annum in ITO costs.
  • Took initiative to lead the project with a 12 person team (9 onsite and 3 offshore) amounting to a $3M project on occasions when the project manager was absent which delivered the project on scope and on budget.

  • Modeled and maintained versioning of the internal proprietary SAP cost and duration estimation tool used on the largest single SAP release (+$300M) to arrive at a more accurate bottom-up estimate.
  • Convinced client leadership of the validity of a $140 million and 11 month extension to the project through re-estimating the project by redesigning the client's internal project estimation model.
  • Created an automated team status report consolidation tool which improved accuracy and reduced report consolidation cost across 12 project teams from 24 FTE hours per week to 4 FTE hours per week.
  • Collaborated with client project leads to design a fast track issues management process for approving / rejecting 3-or-more month-old solutions to strategic and critical issues in functional and technical designs.
